I am a New Zealand-trained educator, specialising in Primary Years education. I am currently living and working in Hamilton, New Zealand teaching Year 7/8 at Berkley Normal Middle School.
Previously, I worked for 5 years in Augsburg, Germany. The majority of my teaching has been in International Baccalaureate Primary Years' Programme schools, though I also have experience with the approaches to teaching from the New Zealand curriculum. My educational interests include visible thinking practices, the physical learning environment, technology-integration, and pedagogical documentation.
I am a passionate traveler and love working internationally. I feel very lucky to have encountered so many different perspectives and approaches through my work. For a number of years I have published class blogs which have supported meaningful discussions with other classes and teachers across the globe. I hope to continue extending and challenging my own ideas with this personal blog, which reflects my ongoing thinking and dialogue about education as well as recording evidence towards the Practising Teacher Criteria here in New Zealand.
