Active Listening
What? - Active listening is a useful skill for all sorts of situations - whether you're taking part in meetings and workshops or dealing with conflict
So What? - By actively listening during one of my workshops I can come to understand how the speaker feels about a subject or situation. The key is knowing how I can hear people through their words and tune into their underlying emotions, concerns and tensions.

So What? - It feels good doing a good clear out; getting into all those shelves and cupboards and creating space.
Now What? - Time to keep it tidy! Organisation is the key to success! Taking the time now to sort folders and file everything away will make the beginning of next year more seamless.

How To Facilitate A Workshop
What? - After running a number of 'successful' blog workshops this year I thought it would be beneficial to start looking ahead to next year. I thought it would be a good idea to start looking a little deeper into the notion of workshop facilitation.

This is why I do what I do!
What?
So What? - Every now and then something happens which makes us feel valued, which is a wonderful feeling. I received this letter from one of my students and it felt pretty darn good to be a teacher.
Now What? - This has shown me the power of well-chosen and well-timed words. I often think appreciative thoughts of people, but often the time comes and goes in busyness and they get forgotten. What I have learned from this student is that it is important to share this appreciation with others. Just like it did for me, I may provide someone for support, just when they need it.

Collaborative Planning - Learning about Te Reo
What?
So what?
True collaboration! - I really appreciated the opportunity to have an expert stop by and pass on his wisdom. It is great to see the enthusiasm Trinity has for teaching Te Reo and it was a great opportunity for the ST's to run through some of their ideas. It was evident that their confidence about these lessons had already increased.
Now what?
It will be great to see how the ST's implement some of the amazing ideas that Trinity has passed on and it will be even better to have him stop by and observe as they are teaching!

Teacher Wellbeing - My wellness account
What?
Would it help to think about my health in financial terms? So What?
Just as we save our pennies for a rainy day; we want to be doing enough things to grow our health (and to outweigh the effects of any mandatory account fees or wellness tax!). Try and make at least 50% of my daily choices well choices - and before I know it my account balance will be looking pretty impressive. Hopefully i'lll be feeling pretty darn good.
Now what?
My plan would be to make a lot of 'well choices' i.e. eating a banana, going for a walk outside at lunchtime, having a moment of mindfulness before class! = Try and make 2 'well' choices today!
